Riverina CPR Course
Valid for 12 months
Face to face Delivery (2 Hours)
The course follows:
- The life support protocol of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- The primary survey DRSABCD
- Basic emergency care skills.
The aim is to preserve life until medical help arrives.
CPR Course Theory Component
- Techniques of CPR including modifications for infants and children.
- Emergency care of people suffering shock.
- Choking or bleeding.
- The use of bystanders and how to contact emergency services
- The importance of defibrillation.
CPR Course Practical Component
- Checking for dangers and taking appropriate action.
- Assessing the level of consciousness.
- Clearing and opening the airway.
- Checking for the presence or absence of breathing.
- Positioning of the casualty for rescue breathing.
- Performing simulated rescue breathing on a resuscitation manikin.
- Locating the compression point for chest compression.
- Demonstrating effective CPR on a manikin placed on the floor.
- Demonstrating the appropriate action for a casualty who vomits or regurgitates.
- Placing the casualty in the recovery position.
CPR Course Outcomes Component
Successful candidates will receive a:
- Royal Life Saving Resuscitation certificate (valid for 12 months)
A Statement of Attainment for Unit of Competency from the HLT07 National Health Training Package will be delivered:
